I was a renter with Thorncroft from 2005-2007. 2 complete years! My stay at Thorncroft was GREAT in the begining. Our neighbors were nice, quiet and respectful. The staff always attentive. Then in 2006 all of our neighbors began moving out of the building and were replaced with very rude younger tenants. The rates had raised a little by this time. Parking: a joke! unless you secure a spoy by 4:30 PM and plan not to leave all night. People are in such a hurry that they don't even know how to park... consuming 2 parking spots! Very frustrating when Many of your neighbors do that and then leave the cars for weeks! The units are COLD. The heating system is poor and we freeze in the winter even with all the heaters on! I have had many issues with appliances, etc. The bathroom is okay. We had to add towel bars ourselves because they provided poor ones that had been over used and would no longer support the weight of our towels and broke... first week! The turnover rate from employees and residents is horrible. People just aren't happy here! There is no one in the office that I recognize from signing my lease. IMPORTANT: You must stay away from leasing in buildings 14, 11 or any other building that faces the Extended Stay Hotel. U will see the most amount of traffic, noise, etc. No privacy! The people that are young live in these buildings because they are close to the extra parking spots. Then they can invite ALL of their friends over to work on the cars in the parking lot loudly-- which does happen. Especially in the Summer! Then they throw thier loud party complete with a Huka bar. This is an ongoing thing! So rude... we have to be up at 5 AM to begin our day and the neighbors would party on the weeknights until 2 or 3 AM. What ever worked out best for them... what a Great neighbor! There were so many sleepless nights. I asked management to do something multiple times: NOTHING! The "security" never drove by, the police never stopped the problem. Thorncroft is also a meeting spot for fights... LOTS... I have witnessed many from my bedroom window. It starts with loud yelling, then gets physical. The police ususally stop it but the fights return. So annoying!... and my daughter is watching this with me' Bottom Line: Rent is reasonable, younger people are attracted and problems will persist. This is my warning to you! I've heard Lion's Gate & The Veranda's in much better! Friends live in both and LOVE it there!
