Thorncroft Farms is a horrible place to live

My husband, son and I have lived at Thorncroft Farms now for five months. We have lived in many different apartments over the years and this is by far the worst one. We have extremely loud and inconsiderate neighbors living directly over us who allow their small children (under 6) to stay up until midnight every night. The children jump and rattle our apartment and wake our toddler up sometimes 6 or 7 times a night.
We have been complaining to the neighbors as well as the management for the past five months. We call the night security almost daily to ask them to go and tell the neighbors to be quiet so our child can sleep (this happens between 10pm and midnight every night). The management is useless to help us out. They don't appear to care at all and are unwilling to work with us to get out of this apartment. After five months of daily complaining to the office, they are willing to move us to a different apartment within the complex. But since we have lost complete faith in them, we will not do that.
They offered to allow us to break out lease, but not without paying back the specials that we were given upon moving in. So, we are not allowed to move without penalty.

We would never recommend Thorncroft Farms, especially if you have children. The management is terrible and if you have issues with neighbors, they will not help you out at all.

Thorncroft Farms is advertising as "luxurious apartment living." There is nothing further from the truth. If you want an apartment to live in where the management doesn't care to help you, then this is the place to live.

Please save your time and money and don't waste it on Thorncroft Farms.

That's unfortunate, but also a part of apartment living. If you want to guarantee complete silence, get a house. No apartment complex can control how much of a jerk the neighbor's kids are. I've lived in 20 apartments over the past 10 years and have learned that noisy neighbors are completely unpredictable. They can move into to any apartment, at any time, luxury or not. Rating a complex low because you have a ---- neighbor is unfair. You shouldn't be surprised that complaining doesn't help. Did you try politely talking directly to the neighbors about the problem? Management even offered to relocate you in the complex. That's a great offer! Unless your neighbors are loud enough to break local noise ordinances, who can do anything? Management to your neighbors: "I'm sorry, but you have ---- children and are being evicted". Yeah... that won't result in a lawsuit. If noise is a problem for you, rent a house. It's not a guarantee of silence either, but hugely increases your chances of a silent nights rest. I understand that you are mad and tired, but you're being a boob. Quit being a boob. You're making the rest of us humans look bad by association.

Oops... just ready more thoroughly and see you still live there. Would like to hear if you have any success with the management and dealing with the noise problem.

We are moving to another apartment within the complex soon. We will finish out our lease there- we don't expect to not have any noise, but we do expect the management to be more helpful, since they do have "quiet" hours after 10pm. Our neighbors were loud until almost midnight constantly. Originalbryan, not sure what body parts have to do with my rating??? You are very strange. Suzy, so yes, the management has helped us, although we still have to pay the fees of a moving truck to move us within the complex, as well as pay back some of the specials we got when we moved in. We hope not having neighbors above us with out of control kids helps make life at Thorncroft a little more pleasant.
