I've lived in a 1-bedroom apartment here since last spring. Since then, I've spent considerable time on the side searching for apartments that are located closer to my workplace. However, it's becoming evident that OJP has quite a bit to offer for the rent.
The Mountain Park Community Center is directly across the street and is free to residents; including massage services, well-equipped gym and snack bar.
Garages are available for an extra fee; everyone else gets assigned a carport as near as possible to your apartment. The management inherited a shoddy parking database from the previous owners. So they struggled a bit to survey who occupied which carport or which garage. In the meantime, it took one or two tries before I found one unoccupied.
The pool is large, clean and bright. It felt great to swim during the hot summer. We'll see how it feels in the winter. I don't know if it's heated.
I think my apartment layout is good. Units are arranged in pods of small buildings. So we have windows on 2 sides. Very nice.
About a 15-minute walk down the hill is a shopping center with a New Seasons, Jamba Juice, Columbia outlet, etc.
One issue I do have with this apartment is an infestation of grain beetles under the carpet. To the management's credit, they make available an exterminator once a week at no extra fee to residents. He treated the apartment once; I might call him back soon for a follow-up.
Overall, the residents seem to be well-behaved and classy. The maintenance crew is friendly and helpful. The ongoing capital improvements are irritating sometimes, but worth the wait.
