Well, it's better than living under a tree but not much

I lived there for 5 years, and I left. I can only ask myself why I stayed so long
- perhaps I dislike moving.

Let me just go over a few things that have occurred to me while I was there - any ONE of
these things should have made me leave.

1) I had some minor plumbing problem in the kitchen sink area. I placed a call to the office
and a maintenance type person showed up. After replacing some pipe-like thing under
the sink, they called it done, and left. A day later I come home to discover my
living room was flooded with about 1/2 inch of water. I moved all my belongings, and
called again - while they fixed the leak - they have yet to reimburse me for any
items damaged.

2) They have a great deal where they maintain all the light bulbs for you - I have found personally
that this is best done by getting your bulbs from them and replacing them yourself - let me explain:

Having a burnt out florescent bulb in the kitchen, I called the office. The maintanence person arrived
and during the process of changing bulbs managed to drop one in the kitchen. Not only did the bulb break leaving
glass all over the place, they also broke several other items in the kitchen.
Again, I was never reimbursed for this.

3) I have complained several times of strange "scuttering" noises in the walls, which I assumed where rats, seeing
as I had observed one running under the building at the neighbors apartments.
They did nothing.

4) With their permission I had installed a direct-tv dish. 2 years later they asked me to remove or they will have it
removed since I did not install it with permission. I wrote them a nice letter explaining this and threatened to sue.
They left me alone on that issue.

5) During the period of time when they had some fraud happening in the office - Apparantly one of the employees was
giving out a "first month free" deal, as she had explained to the owners - however, instead she opened an account in
the oswego point name, and was instead pocketing the first month's rent. I heard she collected over 100K this way.
In any event - they had asked me to give them a copy of a check I made to them from many months back. I provided them
a copy, but I told them that I charge a research fee. Two months go by and I get an eviction notice since they have
lost the copied check that I provided them, and now somehow were not sure that that month had been paid. Another trip
to the office to set the record straight.

6) The hot water heater is good for about 10 gallons. While this works OK if you want to take a shower, you can pretty
much give up on a bath, unless you like icey water.

7) I had another water leak in the bathroom from the ceiling, which they could not find the cause of - It was intermittent,
and I decided not to use that particular bathroom.

8) Since rent occupancy was running low in the last year, they seem to have forgetten screening their applicants.
I had 2 neighbors that I had to repeatedly call the police on, as they left their stereo on too loud, had many visitors
during the night, and continually had to be towed from my parking spot ( I tried to contact them in person about
moving their car, but they, on answering the door were too stoned to comprehend such a request ). As it turned out they
had both just been released from jail on robbery charges

9) speaking of parking spots, they had managed to loose the parking spot assignment list about 4 or 5 times during my stay
their - they had to continually circulate requests for information as to which spot was assigned to whom.

10) They have a hot tub and an outside pool - but the outside one is in a "continual" state of repair - I remember during my
time there it was only available for one summer.

11) and now for my favorite part, just when you think it can't get any worse ! ... I gave my moveout notice this last june,
but asked that I keep the garage for 15 days past my move out time. They agreed, took my money .. and when I came to pick
up the items in the garage, they had already cleaned them away.

I'm currently in the process of suing them to recover from damages as to the loss of the garage items.

In short, let me summerize.
They are bad news, stay away.
