Staff is polite, but this property has big problems. I had been here only 2 months and had numerous maintenance issues in that time. As noted in other reviews, maintenance requests may take weeks to be resolved even with regular reminders. This unit was rented with minimal amount of inspection, repair and cleanup. Upon move-in, I found a dirty toilet & shower, burned-out light bulbs, dirty dryer filter, clogged drain, bent blinds. Only weeks later, I found black mold, ants, refrigerator leaks, mechanical problems with shower diverter, toilet, deadbolt and disposal. Other problems with this property: noisy Boones Ferry Road, no air conditioning, apartment noise, cheap appliances, minimal fitness center with budget equipment.
The management office told me that maintenance would take care of the filthy window frames, but ultimately, it was left up to me to do the cleaning. There was about a year or more of dirt/mold/bugs on the dark-colored window frames. See the attached photo.
The Lake Oswego Review reported on 5/24/07 that Parkridge Apartments contracted with a fire extinguisher service company to fix the fire alarm and sprinkler system at the 215 Greenridge Drive building. An employee of that service was charged with 85 counts of reckless endangerment to the residents of the 215 building due to fire doors that did not close, alarms did not meet audibility requirements, required permits had not been obtained and the fire alarm service employee lacked the appropriate licensing to do electrical work on that type of system.

First of all, the issue with the alarm system has been addressed and is in the process of being fixed. You wouldnt know that because you probably dont live in my building where the repairs are taking place. If you actually asked the managers about it then you might have a better idea what you are writing about. Honestly, parkridge isnt a bad place to live. I have been here a year so far and I love the location and my apartment enough to not let the managers effect my living. There may be issues with maintenance on occasion but we are all human. I have older aluminum windows in my studio too and they do build up condensation and a lack of cleaning will create mildew. There are much worse problems in the world to be complaining about petty stuff.
Keep things in perspective!

To the Anonymous response from 8/2/07, are you an employee of Parkridge Apartments or HSC Real Estate, Inc?
Read my statement again, and note that I did not make a judgment of the alarm system or the repairs being made to it. I did, however, report the facts as stated in the Lake Oswego Review. Why are you defensive about a factual newspaper report?
The majority of my income goes to my housing expense. With that kind of investment of my hard-earned money, I fully expect a professionally-managed property to provide units that are ready for move-in as agreed upon. When that same management company states that maintenance will be provided within 24 hours, I fully expect that company to follow through in a timely manner and complete the job.
If your expectations are not as high as mine and you are happy with that, then my comments shouldn't be a bother to you at all.
I've had better. I expect to receive what the apartment complex agreed to provide. Up to this point, I have been repeatedly disappointed. There is no question that I will not be renewing my lease.
