I've lived in building 8 for almost two years now and can't complain about much. The only maintenance besides the routine chimney and lint cleaning we needed was to have our screen door to the balcony put back on the track once. We did have ants once, but they took care of it right away and that was the last we saw of the little buggers. The noise around my building has always been decent. Once in a great while there may be a crying baby, but that's what you get when you live in an apartment. Good luck to those who want absolute silence because you just don't find that in many apartment complexes.
There is a hair salon, bar, New Seasons, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, restaurant, gas station, and other stores just down the street. The Mountain Park Rec Center is just a 15 min walk or 5 min drive and you get free membership to their gym. The Mountain Park walking paths are great trails to hit for a quick exercise. It's close to PCC also if you're a student looking for a place.
All in all, everyone looks for different things in an apartment so this place isn't for everyone. My sister and I and our cat and dog have been happy here during our stay. The only reason we'll be moving is because my sister is getting married and moving out so I'm going to move in with a friend.

Yes, these apartments have a problem with sugar ants. I moved from another state and had never encountered a problem like this. It's an annual problem as soon as the weather warms up, and no steps were taken to prevent an infestation which obviously happens every year. These ants infested all my groceries. I had to throw everything out and have pest control come in to resolve the problem. Even with pesticide, ants do manage to come back. I moved away from the Mountain Park area and did not encounter this problem again.
