The Gables at Mountain Park

Still disappointed From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 4/24/2004 Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2004   Ive lived here a year and half and every month I wonder why I continue. Its just one thing after another. The first bad thing was I had two personal packages "stolen" from the offices where our packages are received. They told me they arent responsible for deliveries, but they accepted them on my behalf without authorization. I even called the managment company at least 5 times about it and they never once returned my phone calls. Thank goodness the company who shipped the packages gave me my money back (though they definitely didnt have to). The next big thing was the snow storm in January. They didnt do anything to help the tenants get their cars out. If I hadnt bought chains and parked at the top of the complex, I would have been without transportation for a week. They didnt even shovel the sidewalks. It was completely dangerous leaving our apartment everyday. And then there are lots of small things. The windows are terrible (we have $100 heating bills throughout the winter, even with plastic covering them). And because of this, the apartments are very loud, especially if your windows face Kerr Parkway. And its so frustrating to go the office and ask questions, because no seems to know anything. For instance I wanted to wash my car, and oops, no one knows where the hose is. And a couple of months ago I wanted to vacuum out my car, but none of the outside outlets are working. Again, no one in the office offered any help. I just dont feel like they care about helping the people who live here, even though this is our home. And if you get home after 9:00 (and you dont want to spend the extra $$ for a carport), good luck finding a parking space. I really need to take the time to find a new place, because this place just isnt worth the money. The only redeeming qualities are the views and the Rec Center membership. But still not worth it.
