I previously lived in downtown Portland. The last building I lived in was a hip, slick and cool glass and concrete high rise structure with all the city amenities at my doorstep. However, their out of town corporate ownership and the leasing and maintenance staff were just a bunch of posers, dressed to play the part of professionals , but with their heads up their butts as far as service to their tenants was concerned.
Waverley Greens is completely the opposite. The complex is a little dated, built probably in the mid-70's, but very well maintained. The leasing and maintenance staff are top-notch, very friendly and responsive. The grounds are lush, beautiful, quiet and peaceful. I find that I am much happier out here in the burbs with a more chilled-out group of staff and tenants.
So, in summary, if you need all the glitz, sparkle, energy and high-style of glass and city lights, live downtown. But, if you want a quiet, comfortable, reasonably priced, friendly and competent apartment community, come to Waverley Greens. Kudos to Deidre, Ellen, Ann and all the maintenance staff for their excellent job in keeping the tenants contented. I couldn t be more satisfied, and I'm never leaving.
