I have lived here for a year now and in this past year I think I have had more experiences of being treated unfairly then at ANY other place I have lived [and I have lived in some nasty hole in the walls]. The landlords are absolute B******!!!!!!! I am not exagerating. There have been several instances when they are extremely short with me. I don't care if they are having a bad day- don't take it out on me. Not to mention having my door banged on at 7:30am on a SATURDAY morning b/c my boyfriend was parked in the spots out front and they needed that last spot cleared up before the building opened at NINE! Also, they are only good to you for the first few months you are here, then they literally treat you like ----. For instance, I am having two pieces of furniture delivered (that's right TWO- not a even half a truck load) but since somone is moving in today, I can't have my furniture delivered because somone is moving in, even though it would literally take 30 minutes. I know what it's like ot move, I have done it several times in my lifetime- however, if I recall, when I was moving in here one year ago today a fellow neighbor asked if they could use the elevator to bring up a few pieces of furniture. How is it that it's ok then, but not now'
Bottom line. DONT MOVE HERE unless you want to be treated like a 10 year old. They over price, the roof STINKS in the summer time, and the landlords will cause you more trouble then I am sure you would ever like.

If this is true, then things much have really changed in the six months since I lived there. I was there for a year and a half and had a great experience. and I'm way under 70 years old. I parked in the parking lot out front all the time, and as long as the car was gone by the time they opened the office, they never left a note on my car or anything. One person there was a bit crabby most of the time, but I just kept to myself and didn't deal with her.

First of all, I have lived at the St.Clair for a year now and I would like to clear up a few of these absolute over dramatizations. Never once have I or any of my roommates, friends, or guests been disrespected by ANYONE on the staff here. They have always been genuinely polite and helpful. If they've been short with anyone I fervently believe it was deserved. Calling them B****** is completely out of line and undeserved. Everyone who lives here knows that the 3 parking spots in front of the office are for POTENTIAL renters only, not people who are too cheep to pay for one of the ample parking spots available, or too lazy to park on the street. However on the off hours of the office they do allow people to park there, which they are not required to do. As to the matter of moving furniture in, the freight elevator is assigned in 3 hour blocks there is no way that anyone would be told they can't use it. When we moved in we had movers we payed hourly and there is no way i would have payed them to stand around to let some one else have their furniture delivered. All it takes is a little planning ahead of time and that problem could have been avoided easily. The St. Clair is a fantastic place to live, the staff is awesome, and where else in this city can you get get a full view of the city, Mt. St. Helens, Adams, and Hood for under $2000.00 a month, Oh, thats right, you CAN'T! Oh yeah, the roof has been totally redone does and does not stink that was just your attitude!

Yes the roof has been redone, but now you are not allowed to have more than 2 guests per household on the roof, no alcohol, no pets.....so what exactly are you supposed to do on nice brand new roof that your rent paid for? Sit there and no nothing basically.
The management is bipolar-and the old people control everything.
Having furniture delivered is a total nightmare I agree completely. I even went down and reserved the elivator so that I wouldn't have any problems....but the office decided not to show up for an hour late that morning....so it didn't matter and I had to wait and go through all the pain anyway.
They will do whatever it takes to get people in, but once you are in, unless you are old and retired they will treat you like crap.

As a moderately well to do retired person, all these whining ageist reviews have made me totally want to move in-it sounds like management keeps the place quiet. I don't want to live with a bunch of 20 something drunks throwing parties with 18 million guests or tossing their beer bottles off the roof. WTG Management!!! I will soon be happily doing nothing on your new roof-these "bad" reviews have sold me on the place!
