1) schizophrenics outside yelling at all hours, homeless lingering. I'm guessing I walked past a few drug deals from the nervous looks on their faces
2) bland, apartment beige paint. If you paint over it to make it look less generic, you'll have to re-paint when you leave or it'll cost you $$$
3) elevators have problems, prepare for a wait
4) no parking. If you like to walk or treasure hunt for your car later, it's okay.
5) no frills. alot of money for (beige) walls, that's it, bare-bones basic apartments.
6) manager likes to gossip.
7) ugly kitchens, It reminds me of my first apartment when I was a teenager
8) alot of rent hikes
9) flat-rate gas charge regardless if you use it, or not. I'm frugal with air conditioning and really don't like paying for what I don't use.
10) there is alot better out there, cheaper with more to offer. Big deal if it IS downtown, there are better places 15 min away by MAX.

I live here and I think this person is just sour grapes. Get yourself a suburban apt or a house to share with someone, you won't find what you are looking for downtown without 2x the rent!
