The location of this building was key. One of my favorite neighborhoods. It was away from the hype of NW 23rd yet close enough to saunter over w/o a car. I loved living steps away from beautiful Washington Park. I am not sure of the condition of the aprtments now, but this building could use a good, complete remodel. Hardwoods or something similar in all the apartments, non-carpeted outside walkways and a complete elevator re-model (new glass and flooring etc.) The white cinder block walls were really cool. It gave the apartments that urban, lofty, beatnik feel. It was a great place to live if you were not able to afford what was in the area. Great views especially, if you lived on the 2nd floor or higher. Home is what you make it, and it's good if you have the sense and saavy to "fix-up" a place.
