We stayed at Altamont for a six month lease.
The walls were so thin, the neighbors could be heard "talking" at all hours. We resided on the main level, and had neighbors below, and above. We recieved noise complaints from our television being on too loud!
We also had a reoccuring problem with Ants. Couldn't seem to get rid of them no matter what we did.
When it was finally time to move, we cleaned our apartment from top to bottom, in the best condition possible. After we left, to our surprise we did not recieve one cent of our security deposit back. They had listed items (such as light bulbs) well over the actual cost, and embellished so many details, they felt justified in not returning any of our deposit! Also listed were damages that existed upon our original move in.
Parking was a nightmare, and break-ins occured on a nightly basis, also common were scratches and scrapes on cars from other careless drivers. The spaces were so close together, many drivers hit vehicles while parking. I worried about new dents and scratches more than break-ins.
Managemnent was a nightmare. We applied a month before our necessary move in date, and were not confirmed until a day before we needed to move! A member of the management team could not get ahold of some previous landlords, and instead of telling us so, they ignored the problem and kept us waiting to be approved. We had to call our previous landlords ourselves to finally get approval. Should have been a warning sign of things to come.
