I started out really liking Altamont. The view yes incredible- amenities were great and in the year I lived there I didn?t have many problems at all. We also got the majority of our deposit back.

So, like other postings suggest I am not writing this b/c I got screwed with money or anything like that.



I am also employed with a great job and I am not a lazy person who sits around all day!



My complaints with Altamont revolve more around the tenants and the area surrounding the apartment.



The area is like Ex-con acres. Cars were broken into, apartments robbed and once I caught some man looking into my bedroom window!!!! WhenI tried to call the "first response" number given out to me by the management - I didn?t get a response at all!



When I approached the staff the next morning I was basically ignored. One of the leasing agents gave me the number to First Response - again and a very rude manager told me to yell at the guy to get a life next time. Ok, I was really going to scream at a large man staring at me from my window when I lived alone.



Basically, the area is not staff and there is NOT ANY security precautions taken by the staff to protect you. Yes the apartments are nice and even the million dollar homes surrounding it -BUT that is what draws in the robbers aand car jacks from 82nd. I would NOT recommend Altamont b/c of the safety and disregard of the staff
