Great Place to Live!!!

Phew, the other reviews on here must be about a different place. I've been at Altamont for over a year and it's been nothing but a fantastic place to live. I've got great neighbors, the apartments are very nice, spacious, clean, warm, and cozy. They offer garages here with their own opener, which many places don't offer. They've got a great gym with cardio theater, a killer pool area, and are positioned right next to a very nice park.

Here's the deal on some of the negative comments... The parking is tight because everyone wants to live up here. We've got a fantastic basketball court and often the tenants and their friends will hold big games there... with lots of people and cars. The place is just a desirable place to be and therefore very busy with a lot of cars. Speaking of cars, the tenants here have a lot of very nice cars (because we are a classy and stylish bunch here ;-). As far as being broken into and stolen, any theif goes to where the nice cars are. As a resident of ANY apartment complex with a nice car, you have to protect it... get a garage!!! Either that or lock your stuff up, don't leave things in plain sight within your car, and just use common sense!

As far as the staff, they are as accomodating as I've come across. They've always been prompt in responding to concerns. The front office staff are very polite, professional, well dressed, as well as being quite the hotties ;-) The maintenance staff are courteous, efficient, and prompt, too. The only 'trashiness' I've seen in the complex is from other tenants, but it's very limitd. Most people have very clean patios with flowers and plants to make it look nice. As with any place, we have the typical 'trashy' chick in the other building, or knuckle-dragger on the top floor, but hey, this is apartment living... you get that with any large mix of people.

It's disappointing to see all these negative comments about a place that is deserving of praise. Some comments on here talk about how the complex is dark night. There are many security lights all around and on the garages, but since the complex is kind of 'stand alone' up on the face of the hill, it tends to be a bit dark and cozy... a lot better than glaring lights from neighboring businesses blaring in your window.

As far as any issues regarding ants or bugs... this is Oregon, people... EVERTHING GROWS UP HERE... including the bugs. There is a lot of natural widllife around the complex since we border undeveloped land. If bugs show up (which sometimes is inevitable anywhere you live), just let the office know and they'll will take care of it. Or even better, instead of whining, why doesn't the tentant just step up and buy some bug spray... duh!'!'

All in all, it's unfortunate that most of the comments on here are by people seeking out a forum to complain. They probably got booted for being a poor tenant and this is their retaliation (sigh). If you are a relatively intelligent person who can make up their own mind and are considering renting at Altamont, just go up and stop by the office. I'm positive they will be more than happy to show you around, answer any questions, and you can make up your own mind. By the way, if you are a pain-in-the-ass tenant, then do all the rest of us tenants a favor and please go rent somewhere else.
