I am in the process of moving after my 1 year lease is up. I've never had an experience quite like this. First of all, the apartment I have is SMALL with no room for storage and just one small closet. As a consequence, I'm still living with things in boxes. The office staff is rude and instrusive and changes frequently, but they all behave the same even though I have been a good tenant and always paid my rent. In the 9 months I've lived here, there have been 5 inspections. When they were asked to not come into my apartment while I am gone, they rudely said they could come in if they wanted no matter what my wishes were if they gave me notice and they would. The apartment is adequate though the upkeep outside lacks a lot-repairs and cosmetic upkeep are needed. The other problems, most especially the attitude of the staff which is often condescending and offered frequently in a threatening manner (as in, do this or you will be evicted) doesn't make it comfortable. In fact, in all the years I have been renting, I have never had an experience like this and I assume that is true with others which is why the tenant turnover is so great. There is assigned parking but it is used by others. They make rules regarding things like noise (usually with an implied threat about losing your place) but there is no one who enforces these rules, especially after office hours.
Generally, everyone is treated with a bad attitude. As I said, in all my years, I have never been treated in this manner and I should be considered a good tenant as my rent has always been paid on time and I try to be accomodating and follow the endless list of rules. I will be glad to move on.
