I lived at the Binford for three years; what struck me was that upon first glance, they looked like Officers' Quarters with the outer appearance (walls and ivy).

I was lucky to have a hardwood floor unit (most are carpeted).

The pool is cleaned well and when open (seasonal) very comfortable to lay out or swim.

All maintenance calls were handled within a day or two (good job Greg!) *.

With previous write-ups, I moved in close to when they replaced all the windows with double-paned, energy-saving windows.

Keep in mind you're moving into older units so there are bigger gaps in some places (door sills) but the windows are very tight (not breezy).

The heat is radiant (through the walls) and I found that it was always comfortable with an hour or two of turning it up to a moderate temperature.

Upsides: Immaculate grounds.

New or newer appliances.

Good parking.

Pool (clean and 8.5ft deep).

Courtyard (safe for cats).

Quick response and repair to unit issues.

Utilities paid (except power bill).

Downsides: Dark in some places off the street.

Bugs (I have seen three silverfish in three years, but a lot of spiders), older unit (be aware and ready for this fact).

Not enough laundry machines.

No dishwasher.

Neighbors can hear you, you can hear neighbors.
