The swimming pools have been closed without any explanation since Tandem Property Management took over last year. There were lots of residents who were very upset by the closure especially in light of that summer's heat and since they were paying for the use of the pools with their monthly rent and the rent had just been raised on the pretext that we needed to pay for the water which till then had been paid for by Cedar Mill Crossing.
Other enmities we are also paying for such as a recreation center, which includes an indoor pool, weight room and a spa are also closed and have been for the entire year. In fact the recreation center is boarded up with signs on the door that says, Closed until further notice . Also there are two tennis courts that have been closed for the same amount of time and are being used for lumber storage.
What they didn t tell us, was they planned to evict us one building at a time, only giving us 30 days to get out so they could remodel and so they could rent to someone else at a higher rate. What makes maters worse is the notice came in the middle of the month after we had already paid the rent and have no money to move with. Also the 30 days would run into the next month and the management could charge rent for half the month.
The apartment is basically four walls stacked on the apartment below it and when the front door to the apartment below is closed the entire building shakes. Don t drink the water it is filthy and has been since we moved in, two years ago. The bathroom sinks have been damaged in the past and the way the management repaired them was with white paint, which came off over time. Cedar Mill Crossing has been a place to live but certainly not the best place I ve lived.
I did manage to find other apartments in the area but when I found they were Tandem Properties, I decided I d rather not deal with these people again; especially since they didn t even offer to find another comparable apartment from among their other properties. Any company that would shoot their customers as they have; do not deserve my business or my money!

The ceilings have holes and leaks on the stove and they patch it up with white patching, and they put tarps on the back aptments roof ewww those buildings are falling down, they need to tare them all down and sale the space and put a big walmart there, thank god I move out 3 years ago, I don't recommend anyone moving there because those aptments will fall down on you when your are sleepy watch out you might be dreaming about and sunami and wake up to nothing and be laying on the ground. OMG Please Don't Rent There

I am curious as to how many people have gotten the renovation/eviction notices. I know of two of the neighbors below me got 'em and one other lady on the other side of my building. Conveniently enough for the first day or so nobody in the office had a clue as to what was going on.
Maybe the news media should get a whiff of this one.

I got my eviction notice last week, and all I have to say is that I'll just go take all my stuff and all my rent money to an apartment complex where the floors aren't sagging and the kitchen counter stays attached to the wall and floor like it's supposed to.

I think that while it is unfortunate that all these people have to leave. Tandem is running a business. If you have ever been to any of their other properties they are all upscale apartments. As all of you know, CMC is a dump. They have done some good things with the overall appearance so far, but they need to renovate the units to make it a formidable complex again. In addition, CMC has always been the low income sore of the area, so they can renovate the complex and ask for more money, which it will demand because the cedar mill area is a middle/upper class area.
Bottom line is that they only need to give 30 days notice in a month to month tenancy. It doesn't matter what time of the month they give it and they are entitled to charge for prorated rent. Anyone should be able to find an apartment in 30 days and if this place is so bad then you should take it as a blessing.
