So, the parking is horrendous (let's face it, it is NOT in downtown Portland so paying for parking is not the accepted practice) They told us that they had budgeted 1.5 spots per apartment (how does that make sense when there are 3 bedroom apartments'). The construction is non-stop, which frequently encroaches on the already limited parking. The management doesn't have any suggestions for resolving the current problems. I had friends that stoppped coming over to visit because they didn't want to try to find parking. My apartment was covered in mold, on the windows, in the toilets, they addressed it once and said that they had an investigator looking into it, and not another word from the fine management at Deveraux Glen. Then to top it off, I just got a friendly "thanks for living at Dedveraux Glen" letter stating that they were charging us $1500 to replace the carpet - luckily I videotaped the apartment before I left - just a suggestion for those of you that are still locked into that place because we even steam cleaned the carpet before we left, I guess they expected it to look exactly like it did when we moved in - when it was brand new.

Thank you SO much for your helpful advice & tips. We are stuck here, and about to FINALLy move out end of May. We now will video tape the apt after we have moved everything out & have cleaned. I even talked to management about the carpets, and they made it sound like it was no big deal. What was the problem? We are very concerned, $1,500 is ALOT of money!! Thx, good luck to you. P.S. Do not rent from the Deveraux Glen!!! I would highly recommend video taping every inch of your apartment before you move out or take pictures. We did not video tape or clean the carpets as we were not too concenred about the condition and somehow they want 2500 from us! And they charged us for a bunch of other crap that was due to them buying the cheapest of everything they could find! I don't even think the place was finished when we moved in as the sewage started coming out of the bathtubs the first couple of weeks we lived there. All they did was shampoo the carpet for us.
