My husband and I moved across the country and found 1801 on-line. The rent was the best we could find for a 2 bedroom, and at first we were very pleased with the unit. It was Very noisy, though, and on the ground floor we were forced to keep our blinds closed at all times. After having lived there for 1 year, our rent was raised, and 6 months later it was raised again! At this point, we decided that, as the rent had gone up nearly $100 in 6 months, we could find somewhere safer and quieter for not much more. I had vandalism issues with my bike (it was chained to my porch, and the tires were slashed), and not only was the road outside my bedroom noisy, the children in the neighborhood would run around Shrieking and unsupervised 'till all hours of the night. The kitchens are tiny, and we had to sacrifice having a kitchen table for additional counter space (there wasn't even enough room for my microwave). If you live alone, and manage to get one of the upstairs units in the back, it would be okay. But otherwise, keep looking. The address may say Portland, but trust me, it's Gresham, and not the best neighborhood.
