I have been here about a month, and am thouroughly dissapointed. I read great reviews about this place, the price was right, and the location was perfect. We were supposed to move in in late august, but hcould not reach the management to sign the papers. They were litterally gone for two weeks, and did not return phones calls. Finally we got ahold of them, feeling a little apprehensive, but we had banked on moving here and did not have a backup plan. So we applied, and were told we would get a response on deposits and whatnot within 48 hours. So we let 4 days pass, then call the office. The manager says we were approved, didnt need to pay deposits, and could move in on Wednesday. A day later we get a call that it is going to be thursday, maybe friday. Finally we move inand, well heres a list: -carpet smells strongly like urine, -countertops are peeling, -drawer was -broken, -there were clothes still in the closet -the light in the storage closet had no on/off change, but was on when we moved in so whoever did the work had to know it was missing -broken cabinet, -botton shelf of bathroom cabinet is rotting but covered by a peice of cardboard -Finish on bathtub is peeling in large peices, clogging the drain and making it extremely slippery -bedroom door does not latch -large cockroaches(which anyone who has lived in portland know, there arent many cockroaches. And the few that there are are very small. These are true, 3-5inch long cockroaches
Im sure there other things which are escaping me at the moment. The staf agreed to move us to a different unit, but we would have to wait a month. Little/no effort has been to correct the problems in the month we have had no choice but to live here, although they did fix the drawer. Management pushed back mov-in another couple weeks on us, so here we are, about 6 weeks removed and still nothing. Management screens all of her calls, and only returns about 1 out 5, and is rarely in her office. She did, however, call and offer to let us walk-through the apartment NEXT to the the unit they are trying to move us into, to which I replied "you really have no clue, do you'" Also, the noise level is unbeleivable, You can hear your neighbors use the bathroom, listen to music, talk, close the door, fart, have sex....just about all of it. Then they will ask YOU to keep it down if you are having a conversation on your "private" patio (which is not seperated from any neighbor whatesoever, so cigarette butts from upstairs land on your porch, cats from your next door neighbor hang out on your side(which i dont mind, but some might).
Luckily we are on a month to month agreement, so needless to say we will be moving to a different complex.
