I've been living her for about three years now, and plan on moving out once our lease is up. I moved into a new apartment (same complex) a year ago when I got married. They switched managers and are tightening up on things. Rent increases are a ridiculous $75-100 increase (rent has been really low for a long time, but that's too big of an increase for people) and they now make you pay for water and sewage. The rent itself tends to be a good price, but they are trying to make the place sound fancier than it actually is.
They are ghetto apartments, in both apartments the floor squeaked horribly and you can hear your neighbors, very thin walls. In three years, the pool has never been open more than a week before it gets another crack in it, so don't let them sell you on that.
They do get ant problems and such, but as long as you fill out a work order, they have always been to my apartment in two days or less and had it taken care of. Maintenance wise, they are fabulous. Just fill out a work order!
It is in a good neighborhood, TONS of parking when you have people over, and the other tenants all seem to be pretty chill to everyone else. Just be sure there will be no rent increases in the near future, and if you're cool paying an extra $50 a month for water/sewage, then go for it!

Now, are age and micro-techtonic stresses really a flaw of the management? I'm sure every time they make/made a repair they were in good faith that the pool was fixed; your review of the overall condition of the 40-plus year old place is relatively honest and accurate, but that one line insinuates a 'con' that doesn't exist. I found the pool to be open most of the summer, with 3 weeks of closures in a bad year. That does suck, but I remember a wishful and frustrated staff doing their damnedest to fix it.
I lived there from 1999 to 2005 and knew management well. They busted their asses to get things right; seemed, at times like they would get much resistance from their upper management. Mainteneance was seen on the property,by me, around the clock (6:00am-midnight)- Made me feel secure.
They also reigned in all of the noisy crowd and flung a blatantly suspicious drug dealer out of here in a responsive and timely manner(kudos on that, W.H. and R.H.).
Old buildings, great price, neat grounds, nifty location and woefully hardworking staff. A-plus for effort!
