Management is worst I have ever seen!!!!

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I have lived here less than a year and before I moved in Randy was the manager - He seemed very nice and his attitude and the 'vibe' around here was great. Both these factors, along with a seemingly peaceful environment, made me comfortable which is primarily why I chose to move in. Randy only stayed a couple of weeks after the place sold.
We are now on our FOURTH manager in less than a year. They have all been unprofessional and unresponsive to issues. The 3rd one was completely inept and the first had a horrible demeanor. I haven't had much experience with the fourth, but I have had experience with corporate management so I don't expect any better in the on-site managers.
As far as 'issues,' in the short time I have been here, the following has happened:
Major construction outside and minor construction inside (jackhammers, brick saws, pounding, machines, toxic fumes, etc.). Roof-top/other parties all night long. Noise, noise, noise!!!
Broken elevator, pool, hot-tub, garage door (paid secure parking) and exercise equipment. Trash areas at times overflowing - up to six feet out into parking areas...
...Multiple break-ins inside secure parking area, inside storage units and the apartments themselves. I know a woman who woke up in the middle of the night to find a man in her bedroom. Fortunately, he did not harm her but proceeded to steal multiple items. A couple of days later another woman had a similar break-in. These I just the two stories that I personally know. Keep in mind, this is a 'secured-entry' building. I have also been physically threatened by another resident because I asked for a stereo to be turned down at 2 AM.
Additionally, there is misleading information and down-right misrepresentation to prospective tenants. These are touted as "luxurious riverfront living." In the first place, there is no river front. Condos line the river, several stories high and you cannot even see the river.
Next, all the items and problems I described above are certainly not luxury. Security was apparently fired about a year ago (in spite of all this crime and huge rent hikes). The places in general are built cheap. They are only about 6 years old and they constantly have problems with leaky roofs. The appliances are the cheapest you can buy... tiny fridges with no handles and dishwashers that do not clean. They also indicate washer and dryers are "full-size" when they are in fact the tiny stackable apartment size. You can get about three towels in the washer at a time.
Management also does not clean the filthy windows on the outside. This is kind of difficult for the tenants when the building is four stories high.
I am aware that this all sounds very negative and I wish I had something positive to add. Unfortunately my experience has been awful, and I had been really excited and hoping for a great experience when I moved in. I just have never encountered such bad treatment as a tenant or as a consumer and I think it is such bad business. The corporate office houses some of the most rude, uncaring and unprofessional people I have ever met in my life.
Given that the rents have increased over $200 (around $1125 for 1 - 2 bedrooms), I just hate to see anyone else endure what has gone on here in the past year and have to pay more for that experience. People have been moving out in droves, and I have talked to (or heard them upset with management) no less than 15 different parties here that have had awful experiences. I personally am really looking forward to the completion of my lease!
Good luck, wherever you move!
