We had a BBQ on the roof-top terrace and the day of the BBQ the propane tank ran out. So I went to the office and asked what I should do. They maintenance man was out (it was Sunday) so they told me to go to Fred Meyer and fill it up and bring back the receipt and they would refund me promptly... It ended up being $15 to refill the tank. I gave them the receipt and had a nice BBQ. A MONTH later I go down to the office to check on my refund. The manager happens to be there and all of a sudden blows up on me. "where did you fill that tank up!' It only cost me 3 dollars when I fill my tank up..." Out of nowhere she just insults me and I find out later that they had lost the receipt and was told to come back next week. Freaking out over $10 dollars, cheap bastards. Another MONTH later I go back and they say they found the receipt and would pay me back soon. No joke, one month later I get my little note slipped through the door with my money (another scary feature, you get these little notes under your door, telling you to take your bike of the balcony because it makes the place look bad...). To make a long story short, the manager her is a crazy ----- and makes the entire staff edgy and fake. I was lucky enough to get a phat deal from the only genuinely good guy working here (who subsequently was mysteriously fired after the propane tank incident...). On another note, you'd think the people who live here would be mature and well-behaved, however, our neighbor was a teenage boy who's mommy was paying the rent for him and he vandalized the place. We would come home and find trash in front of our door, and lugy's spit all over the elevator. You'd except more from people who live in the "Pearl." Anyway, we had 2 months off on a 12 year lease on a one bedroom, with free parking and free storage. Don't ask for anything less.

On a brighter note, we lived in a unit facing inside, so it was very quiet and we enjoyed that. The location is great. AC sucks. Not enough closet space. Whoops not so bright.
