Lloyd Place was an ideal apartment for my transition from college to working in downtown Portland. The apartments are clean, newish looking, and designed to be roommate friendly (at least ours was). The location could hardly be more ideal for anyone needing to be downtown since it is within walking distance of the MAX in fareless square. Additionally, the area seems very safe, and the management staff is generally very friendly and pleasant.
My only negative comments about Lloyd Place are that it is too expensive (parking is not included in the already high rent) and that the management had a problem with us wanting to pay our rent with two separate checks (i.e., one from each roommate), even though we were always on time or early with the rent. The latter issue has merely been an inconvenience, but the former is the reason we must leave.
I love Lloyd Place and would recommend it to anyone willing to pay the price, but since it is not a residence I can afford, I am going somewhere that is less convenient/luxurious but ultimately more affordable.
