won't move until neccessary

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004
I moved into this building after living in a very nice (and expensive) apartment for 2 years. I love the location of this apartment building and realize that as I am living in a rent controlled building, there will be a few more unpleasantries than most. Most of these unpleasantries are from other residents and not from the staff but is expected when one pays what they do to live in the Pearl District.
I have had few problems with management; most being when the building was first set up and as they were overloaded with paperwork and some was incomplete. I had a problem with a neighbor and the management handled it very well, for the most part, ensuring both of us happiness. The fire alarms going off every few months is annoying but is usually due to someone burning something and opening their door to the hallway to get rid of the smoke in their own unit. I would rather have this happen from time to time than one fire burn half the building down without warning.
I don't plan on moving until I absolutely have to. It's a wonderful location that is constantly being built up around. People from all over the city come to visit the area of where we live. The crime rate (collected from the police department's website) is relatively low. Parking in a free spot is a bit difficult sometimes (especially during First Thursday or any large downtown activity) and for a spot in the garage it is quite expensive. But if I wanted to live down here in a non-controlled building, I'd be paying a lot more for everything.
For those that don't like living here should just move out. Realize that you're not going to get a 5 star hotel if you're paying Motel 6 prices. This place, for what we pay, is an amazing find.
