I have been living at the Marcella for 7 years. When the building was owned by Harsch, they kept a fulltime and weekend manager on staff and the place was well-tended. Capital Property Management bought it in August 2002, eliminated the on-site managers, and let the quality erode. A pity, but entropy happens. On the positive side, I am still waiting for that ONE THING to push me over the edge and send me to new apartment, but it has not happened yet. Parking on the street in the NW is always a struggle. Being able to walk to stores, restaurants, etc., however, makes up for a lot of faults. In summary: Move here for the location, not because you can eat off the floors.

Very expensive to heat in the winter; if you keep it cold, there is a mildew problem.

The architecture is pretty basic -- nothing to catch the eye.
