McCormick Pier is a horrible place to live. The train noise is ridiculous, not to mention you can't get in and out of there without crossing the tracks, and you have to wait for a train 10-15 minutes for the train to go by. This happens more often than you think. There is a visitors parking lot from 6pm to 6am that is watched very closly by the vulchers at Retriever Towing. If your visitor parks there even 1 minute early they will be towed, to the tune of $275. I'm out of here as soon as my lease is up. I almost forgot. There is no AC, and no cross breeze, but if you open your windows at night, the train noise is so loud it wakes you up. They love to blow their horns all day, and night. Worst place I've ever lived, can't wait to leave.

If only there was some way you could have known that there would be trains before you moved in... oh wait, I guess there is a giant train station right across the street, maybe that should have been a clue.

Anonymous: the train noise has little to do with Union Station. Most of it is from freight trains on BOTH sides of the river. In addition to horns, you can hear trains grinding the rails at all hours of the day and night.
The other issue with this place is that if you live in a top level unit, a lot of the bedrooms have HVAC units installed on their roofs, many of which are in need of repair and will thump randomly at all hours of the day and night.
I completely agree with this review. This place sucks, especially for how expensive it is. I laughed when they asked if I wanted to renew my lease.
