I lived in Watermark Square for 4 years and things slowly got worse and worse. women were raped, people were shot, at least one child was a victim of an attempted molestation by a resident. and management did absolutely nothing!
I am disabled, I have a service dog which by federal law, apt. management can not do or say anything about. well guess what' the manager at the time and the head leasing agent Kimberly, tried to tell me that my dog violated the conditions of my lease. ummmmm, sorry, the dog is protected by Federal Law! I even pointed it out to them what the statute said. they choose to ignore that and instead, started harrassing me and threatening me until the day I moved out after spending 2 weeks in the hospital due to a nervous breakdown because of managements constant harrassement. First they tried to tell me that my dog was over the weight limit, then it was that my breed of dog was not allowed, then it was that he was not state certified, then it was that I had not asked for accomidation. all in violation of Fair Housing Law and Americans with Disabilities Law. I tried to point out to Kimberly that the statute does not state any requirement for formal training of a service dog, there are no restrictions on breed and that I legally can not be discriminated against for any reason. I also pointed out to her that I do not legally have to request accomodation, They have to accomodate ME.
I am now in an apt. complex that I love, the management here is wonderful and I would never recommend Wellington Springs to anyone. not even my worst enemy.
