Better than most, far from perfect

Museum Place is brand new (fall '03) and has nice amenities like a huge common patio, wide hallways, air conditioning and individual washer/dryers. The construction seems good and the minor problems I've seen have been fixed quickly.
The location is excellent, close to freeways, restaurants, pubs, the park blocks and library. The streetcar is right outside and MAX is nearby. Parking is secure and bright, but expensive and sometimes every spot is taken. There's locked bike parking, too.
Living over Safeway is convenient but it's noisy with the windows open. Windows close tightly, blocking most sound though. Delivery trucks sometimes disrupt traffic or park too close to the garage entrances. Shopping carts are everywhere, including rolling into cars in the garage. The store has security folks patrolling the sidewalks and public garage level, but I've chased out transients peeing on the ramp.
The manager is one of the best things about this building. He's friendly and professional and he follows through on complaints and suggestions.
Rent seems high for the square footage you get. On the other hand, apartments have big windows, high ceilings and nice detailing. Some units have balconies and the higher floors have sweet views. The building is 100% non-smoking. Most residents are quiet and friendly.
Summary: Pricey, but professionally maintained, well-managed and comfortable. [Updated 10/04]

Damn sounds like the manager thinks pretty highly of himself, I heard he was a total prick!

He was always cool to me and, although I only know a couple other residents, I've never heard anything bad.

RPG1377 is a very unhappy person. He has commented on four reviews because this is the only way he can let out his anger. He broke several rules while living at Museum Place, let his dog soil common areas and was responsible for having his carpet soiled. He refused to pay for the replacement and placed the burden of the cost on his ex-roomate. He is unwilling to use his name because his slanders could create liability. Reviewers are encouraged to speak with management and visit this property and judge on their own.
