This bldg opened new in July 2003. I rented in May 2004. At that time it was only about half full. It is a 16 story high rise. It's in the heart of Old Town/Chinatown. It's a beautiful new structure. Many of us there moved into new never-before-lived-in apts.
The ratings are mixed because of certain circumstances. It is located two blocks from the Steel Bridge and thus the Willamette river.
The neighbourhood has some undesirable characteristics: street people, hookers etc., but despite this seems reasonably safe.
Transportation is outstanding! Parking is not.
Maintenance of the bldg is good. The staff are very pleasant. Originally, the residents were supposed to be over 55 or retired persons. It didn't fill up so it was opened to others. There is an income restriction condition.
Some of us, like myself, got reduced rates by taking an 18 month lease.
The interiors are beautiful. Nice glass light fixtures. The heat hss a thermostat control, and is excellent. Hot water is abundant. The stove, fridge and dishwasher are new appliances.
The disadvantage is that the apartments are small, and there is very little storage space.
It can be somewhat noisy in some of the apts. The noise is from outside. The soundproofing between apts seems to be good.
There are two laundry rooms, a spacious common room with a large TV. Two patios: one on the 2nd floor near the common rm and laundry, and the other on the roof by the other laundry.
Many of the apts have fantastic views!
Overall an impressive bldg and a good deal for persons with moderately low incomes.
