I have lived at Pearl Court for 5 plus years. And it has been my experience that people bring a lot of their own baggage to this place and their reviews of it. I pay my rent on time so I have never had a problem with the staff. I am courteous and patient with them and I get the same in return. It hasn't always been perfect we were going through managers like crazy for a while there but the last 8 months have been a marked improvement. Weird things like fire alarms going off every two weeks don't happen anymore. The doors are no longer breaking all the time and the lobby and shared areas are well looked after. These were problems but no longer. If you are super sensitive to noise you do not want to live in the city next to the post office. If you don't mind it won't be a problem for you. As for neighbors I have twice in 5 years had a problem with a shared wall neighbor and I told the management and it stopped. No biggie.
It's really great to live in the Pearl and I wouldn't live anywhere else. I don't need a car because I can walk to work or take the streetcar and now that we have a Safeway nearby it's a nice walk for that too.
I think some of the folks who are so unhappy with the place are on their own for the first time and expect to be waited on hand and foot. This is the real world. Deal with it.
Non whiners, give Pearl Court a try....

Everyone who doesn't agree with you is wrong, on drugs or a fake person, a management spy? As I said in my very real review, people bring their own baggage to this place and their reviews. You certainly proved my point.

Oh please! When you say real world, do you mean that many of the residents are mentally ill, addicts, alcoholics, on disability, unemployment or social security and don't work. That is not my world. My new apartment is a palace compared to my apartment at Pearl Court and only slightly higher in rent. Don't rent here unless you are VERY easygoing, a smoker and you are or befriend the types mentioned above.

This place GAVE ME more baggage than I have ever had in my life. I mean this honestly. There isn't one floor of this building that doesn't smell putrid during the winter. In the summer it gets aired out and that is when they show most off their rooms and lock u into a 6 mo. lease or longer. Shopping carts in the bike room full of of bottles/clothing/porn. It's a wonderful location, but I would say this is as close to being homeless as it gets in the pearl district.
