A great place for the price

I've lived here for nearly a year, and it's been a very positive experience. Upon moving in initially, there was a small hole above my cabinets and no screens on the windows, both of which contributed to a few multi-legged 'visitors' - but these issues were very quickly and professionally addressed by the superb management. Management is on-site, attentive, and very friendly.
The price includes water, heat, and electricity; an extremely reasonably package. The apartments are not large but with creativity you can make it into a very comfortable home. Downtown living isn't cheap anywhere, factoring in the location, price, and overall quality/safety of the building and surrounding area, I don't know of a better place to live.
I don't own a car, so I can't attest to the parking situation. But I can't imagine it's good - there is no on-site parking. However, the location is near a myriad of bus lines, the MAX, and the streetcar - you can hardly be more central. Walking and public transportation are all you'll need to get around.
Overall the noise level is low. I have some neighbors who are pretty loud with their bedroom activity, but on the whole it's very quiet. No crazy parties or drunken shenanigans.
In total, this is a great place to live if you don't have a problem with the small space. Great for students, young couples, or someone just starting out in Portland.
