I am confused...

I am very concerned with the reviews that are on this website. I have been working at Rock Creek 185 for a while now and have never heard a resident complain like this. Whenever there is a problem with someones heat, we consider it an emergency and have the maintenance go over as soon possible. If someone is not going to be home, we will have the resident sign a permission to enter so it can be taken care of. There are a few people that do not want us to go in when they are not home, so it makes things a little more difficult. The vaulted ceilings do make it a little more costly to heat the apartment but we make sure that the resident is aware that it will not be the average electric bill. That is the downside to having such high ceilings that people love.
With any apartment community that you find was built before the '80s, we are requuired by law to inform the resident that there is 4% of Asbestos in the ceiling and it has been capsulated for your safety(hence the popcorn ceilings).
Yes, there is lead based paint on the property, as in most cases again you will find in a community built before the '80s. There is none of this paint inside the apartment homes. We show the new resident's the small list of locations that the paint is on the property. The only way of being hurt by the paint is to intentionally ingest it.
Unfortunatly, we cannot allow a resident to borrow things such as ladder. This is a liability issue and you will find the same result and virtually any apartment community.
The complaint about the trees I do not understand. The trees and grounds are what makes our property so special. People can walk outside of there apartments and get a great taste of nature without having to do a thing.
Whenever a new resident moves in, they are always informed that if they are here for less than two years, they are responible for a portion of the carpet cleaning and painting fees. We always make sure that this is understood.
Water and sewer has to be billed per occupant in the home. We are not able to meter the water and sewer induvidually for each apartment. Trash is only $12.00/apartment.
Unfortunatly, there are people that move out and do not agree with the things that they have dealt with here. Perhaps these reviews are sincere, perhaps they were written by someone who was upset with the actions that we took in a needed situation. Either way, I know that the interactions that I see in this office everyday are not the rude, insensitive, and "rushed" interactions people have thought it to be. I have lived in places were they trully treat you with disrespect and do not take care of the people that they work for. We all work for our residents and to make them happy. With out you, we would not have our jobs. I hope that these reviews do not turn you away from our community simply for the fact that I know most of our residents do enjoy our community and the things we do for them.

Is it appropriate for a member of management to post a "review" in order to skew the ratings just to respond to someone else's review?
Isn't that what the "Post a response to this review" box is for?

I agree. The management should not post reviews even if it's in response to other reviews. You have to take in to consideration the number of reviews and the disparity between all the reviews to get a real picture of what the place is like. Unfortunately management staff feel the need to improve their ratings by writing false reviews rather that really taking care of their residents. In the case of this review I think I will give the worker the benefit of the doubt based on other factors.

At least this worker was honest about it and not only posted the username as the apartment name but also stated outright the bias of the situation.
