Great view, More trouble than it is worth

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I've lived at the Rose Plaza for almost 2 years. I was attracted the the building because of the excellent location, the wonderful view from the upper floors, and the fact that there is a parking garage- a huge advantage in this great neighborhood. I like my little apartment very much, however...
The endless series of repairs/remodels is unreal. It has been MONTHS that they have been painting, recarpeting, rewiring, etc. It is very loud, invasive, and takes place very early in the morning. The elevator is a complete joke. For 2 years, it has been broken more than it has been working, a major inconvenience. The management has entered my apartment 3 times in the last five months for "inspections". They give 24 hour notice, but it is still excessive. The garage door has been broken twice this year, trapping my car inside and preventing my from driving to work. Trying to figure out crosstown buses while running late for work is not fun. The kicker is that the rent is really, really high. Parking is really high. Utilities are really high. We can't control temperature control inside the apartments so I spend some days in the winter wrapped in a hat, gloves, and down comforter. I have turned on the oven for heat. I have asked for screens for the windows for months and finally gave up, so I get bugs in warm weather.
Long review short, I wouldn't recommend it.
