We moved in our apartment a year ago and I have regretted it since the day we moved in. For starters, The apartment was nothing like the one they showed us. The linoleum in the entry way, kitchen, and bathrooms is old and grimy and always looks dirty, no matter how much we scrubbed. Nothing like the brand new linoleum in the model the show. Also different was the 3rd bedroom we were shown. The closet was HALF the size and because we live on the bottom floor (in the foundation) I lost 3 feet of space extending from my window! I was NOT told about this before I moved in and wasnt even allowed to see the apartment I would be moving into before we signed the lease.
The parking SUCKS! you have one covered spot (not in front of your building, that is made for a compact car! Most nights me or one of my roommates is forced to park on the street. My roommate moved from out of state and her tabs had been expired for one month and even though she was parked in our assinged covered spot, they put a huge sticker on ther window threatening to tow her for her tabs! A friend of mine stopped by to pick me up one night and couldnt find a spot so he pulled up in front of a garage. We werent gone 2 mins and he was being towed (the guy tried to tell us someone called, but that was a LIE). They charged him $160 just to drop his car! The tow trucks prowl the complex, looking for reasons to tow you. It is crazy!
The dryer constantly burned our cloths. We had them come out twice but the fix never lasted long.
But the worst has to be the mice situation. We live near the back off the feild. WE are clean people who keep our place relativly clean. However because of holes in the walls, we had mice. SMBB seemed to think this was funny. They would tell us that we were the ONLY apartment that had a mice problem (which was a lie because our friend lives in the next building, on the second floor and found a mouse floating in her open bottle of vegetable oil one moring!!). It took them two months to finally seal up all the holes in our apartment. We had to leave traps in plain sight in our kitchen to kill the mice. For two months I didnt want to set foot in there because I knew there was a good chance I would see a dead mouse. The maintnence was really good aobut coming to get them quickly, but still we had at least 7-8 dead mice in those two months, it was nasty! And we were not given a discount or anything!!!!!!

Dont move there. They suck!!!!!!!!!

PS our next door neighbor was a wanna be rapper who blared his music ALL DAY and sold pot out of his apartment. Fun. And there were also several break ins.

I live in SMBB now, and have been having the same problem with towing threats. My boyfriend and I moved here from California, his plates are expired, and twice now they've left the huge "warning" sticker on his car threatening to tow for expired tags, even when parked in the covered assigned spot. It's ludicrous! I am NOT happy here, and will be moving out at the end of this month. Good riddance.

oh wow... I'm sorry you had such a bad experience... we've lived here 2 years now and haven't had any of those problems... Never noticed a tow truck and we've left our car parked with the hazard lights flashing when we're loading camping stuff or whatever into our car multiple times... Its worth it here though to pay for the garage And we've never seen a mouse, which THANK GOD. I couldn't deal with it... Maybe it has to do with the fact we are on the 3rd floor, but I'm not entirely sure

You people are idiots that need to read up on your damn laws. HAVING EXPIRED TAGS ON ANY VEHICLE IS ILLEGAL! PERIOD! god dang. Incompetent people really irritate me! Tow trucks do that, that's how the drivers get paid. They're not paid hourly, they're paid by the car. And your friend is lucky. Usually it's $200 to drop the car off the truck. THINK BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN. DO YOUR RESEARCH. If the apartment refuses to show you place that you're going to be living in for a year or more, screw them. Give them a rude gesture and leave. You people suck!
