When my partner and I first moved to Portland, we picked Shadow Hills because it had the right apartments at the right price, AND it was close to downtown, walking distance from a natural food store, and very close to some cute areas like Multnoma Village. We bought our house and moved out. There were several options available to use at move out, and we got most of our deposit back! However, while we love our house, we ended up hating the location. We looked around for apartments, again, in SW Portland. We found one that we liked but we checked back at Shadow Hills, and found that they had a bigger apartment for rent at a better rate! Since we were happy with the location and service the first time, we happily put down our deposit. In the Hillsdale/Multnoma area of Portland, I think Shadow Hills is the best in terms of space/amenities versus price! We can't wait to be back!

BTW I know some people on this site complained of noise from neighbors and such. Apartments are, by their nature, noisy! I have never lived in an apartment situation where I did not hear my neighbors! However, at Shadow Hills, it is only upstairs neighbors you hear, because there is concrete between apartments. In fact we heard less noise from neighbors at Shadow Hills than we do now in our Townhouse!
