Luxury apartments NOT

While a great deal of attention is paid to the public spaces here, the living spaces leave a lot to be desired. Rented this sight unseen except for the website. BEWARE.

The cheapest possible finishes, including NO BASEBOARDS, make laughable the "Luxury Apartments" sign plastered over the front gate here. Particle board cabinetry in the kitchen is awful. Incredibly cheap lighting fixtures. IT LOOKS CHEAP here.

Tacky, tacky. Sloppy maintenance means screens with holes, paint overslopped everywhere including mirrors, windows, and anywhere else a sloppy paint job would show up. Massive gaps at the door thresholds make for creepy crawly excitement and drafts.

I pay as much in utilities for this 2-bedroom as I previously did for a three-story townhouse.

About half the office staff seems to have been hired for their sneering ability. The other half very pleasant. Interesting dichotomy.

Rules abound here. No nails in the building, but they?d like you to decorate to make the place look good to others. Only picture hooks inside, good luck hanging curtains. You HAVE to keep their awful, barely functioning blinds, because they want the windows to look consistent.

And then there?s the parking. Good luck here. A free for all for the open parking spots. Otherwise you park on the street or rent a carport or garage. Posts of metal and brick sprinkle liberally about the comple ensure that you damage your vehicle before you do anything to their building. VERY narrow carport spots. If you face a street, your neighbors? cars will be your primary view.

Then there?s the overhead and street noise factor if you?re living on the ground floor. Construction quality is so poor that a toddler overhead is sufficient to ruin anyone?s peaceful enjoyment. Not to mention that the office seems to give zero consideration to the tenant mix. Due to narrow setbacks, the street noise is horrible unless you have the windows shut all the time.

The upstairs tenants can hear the neighbors having *relations.* In case you think renting an upper here fixes your noise problem.

Barking dogs are a huge problem here. And if you are downstairs, some folks can't use the patios due to dogs urinating off the upper balconies. Ewww. Classy place huh'

Move in could be a problem if it?s a large semi, depending on location. My driver could not get to my apartment from inside the complex, though he had over 20 years of driving experience.

This despite management?s assurance that they?d had semis in here, which could be true for some of the apartments closer to the entrance. If I?d chosen an upper here, the movers would have had a VERY long carry to get my things to the door.

Trouble keeping maintenance help is apparent and a seemingly higher than average vacancy rate looking at all the empty apartments around here. High apartment turnover rate too, which isn?t surprising.

These folks are playing at luxury, without a real clue. If you truly like a nice place, give this place a pass. I?m actually giving serious consideration to the exit fee here.
