I have lived at South Parc now for almost 1 year. It has been a very pleasant experience for me. I have had no problems with my neighbors, the maintenance has been excellent and the for the most part management in the office has always been able to accommodate my needs. Usually, if there is something management is unable to do they always give me a valid reason as to why they can t. I understand that apartment communities are a business and every year prices do go up. I just received my renewal letter and the only reason that my rent would go higher than a $15-20 dollar increase was if I choose to go month to month. When I went in and talked to the management they explained to me that the month to month fees are higher here due to the current market. Lots of people who live in the Bethany Village area are living at South Parc waiting for their house to be built or waiting to buy a house in Bethany. So the month to month fees are higher to accommodate the needs of more residents wanting to go month to month. Most likely lots of the month to month residents will move out at the same time and as a business they do need to cover the expense of having multiple units available at the same time.

I think that they do a great job keeping the exterior clean. They did just get a trash compactor so the trash has been a little full during the first few months, but I think they have it under control now.

There are definitely a lot of kids that live here due to the Beaverton School District. I found it odd that there was only a small playground for them to play, but it does not appear to be any more space for them to build something larger. Every community that I have ever lived in has always had some problem or another with kids. This is a very difficult problem for any management company to solve. Parents should be taking responsibility for their own kids.

I heard too, that the club house was closed due to the last residents that rented it chose not to follow the rules and they caused some damage. I also heard that they are working on a plan to have it re-opened by summer.

I do like the gates on the community. It can be a little frustrating at times when you are waiting for a guest to figure out how to get in the gate, so sometimes I go up and use my card to let them in to speed up the process, but I would rather spend my time doing this than having cars coming in an out of the community all hours of the night. There is definitely no drug trafficking coming in and out of this community, which makes me feel safe.

I am not planning on buying a house till the market gets a little better, so I will definitely sign a longer lease term to stay here at South Parc another year and would recommend South Parc to anyone who wants to be in a safe and friendly community.
