This was a great first place to live in Portland. But now that we know the town really well, this part of the NE just really isn't the way to go. Negatives: -Not close to much, Max is about a 15 minute walk (not bad), neighborhood is pretty residential, quiet. Fred Meyer about 1-1.5 miles away. We liked the Asian Pacific Market across the street :) but not much as far as shopping, perusing or restaurants/bars. -Walls are thin and our upstairs neighbors were very loud- why they have wood floors upstairs instead of carpet is beyond me the neighbors across the hall were very loud too. (Had to tell neighbors to quiet down on more than one occasion) -Laundry facilities are small and seemed to always be in use, but I did like the idea of using a laundry card instead of quarters :) -The Comcast cable went out frequently (by frequent, I mean a couple times every two or so weeks, sometimes for days, if not notified right away) by our unit, (it was something to do with the box outside) -No extra storage unit for boxes, etc -SMALL bedroom closets!!! Positives: -Relatively inexpensive (we had a two bedroom unit for a good rate) -Plenty of on street parking -Good sized apartment, minus the closets in the bedrooms. I loved the big windows in our unit. - well-maintained grounds -friendly and helpful staff -noise not bad around the complex, (only inside the apartment, be lucky to get an apartment upstairs)
