I have lived at VLJF for 2 1/2 years, and in that time I have seen many improvements. The manager has changed several times, and none of the office staff is the same from when I moved in, but everybody seems to be really friendly. Every time I have needed anything, they generally seem happy to help me, and they always remember my name which impresses me because it is such a large complex. Once, someone even delivered a package to my apartment because I could not get home to pick it up before the office closed. I don't think that most places would do that.

My biggest complaint is the other residents. There seems to be a lot of college students who really don't give a crap about respecting their neighbors privacy or right to live in a quiet place. There are lots of parties and I have opened my door to big piles of puke in the halls and elevators. There are always beer bottles left in random places, and some jack ass likes to piss in the elevator. I feel bad for the maintenance staff that has to clean it up. But at least they do it.

Parking used to be an issue too because the gates were always left open, and I had my car broken in to a couple of times. But now the gates are closed all the time, and it does not seem to be as big a problem any more.

Overall I would recommend VLJF based on the staff but not the residents. Things seem to be improving over time, and alot of the idiots are being kicked out. I say good ridance to them.

It is the responsibility of management to keep people like this out, and kick out people who piss in elevators or puke in the hallways. Only they are to blame for failing to screen or remove bad tenants.
