Let me start out by saying that, in response to a previous comment, my roommate and I are excellent tennants. Never have we had any problems with being trouble occupants. It is the state of the complex and the distain that we get from management that makes me write this.
I moved into this place with high intentions.
The day I moved in, management forgot to block the elevator to allow us access to move in/out. And that very same time frame, 3 people were moving out.
I have heard complaints from many different people since moving here, and, to be honest, they are completly understandable.
1) The 'security staff' that is hired here is sub par. On more than one occassion, I have come in at night to see the staff watching the TV in the workout room and ignoring the pages on their walkie-talkies.
With that, the building isn't secure. At any given point, at least one of the doors is broken, allowing people to come and go freely. Homeless people are frequently seen going floor to floor to search for cans in the garbage chute room.
2) Management doesn't seem to care about the goings-on of their complex. For the past 2 months, at least 6 of the 10 dryers have been broken. Tennants have had to go so far as to leave notes asking management to take care of it. I had gone down one day to find out what was going on, and I was told that they were fixed and that the signs weren't taken off (which doesn't make sense at all -- why fix them and not let people know'). Two days later, someone had taken the time to post petitions on every single floor asking that management take care of the issue. (Turns out that they sent the maintenance people to take them down 2 days later)
3) For the money, this is the worst value imaginable. Think of a decent sized apartment, nothing flatering, but not too small. Now, take away the benefits:
a) all utilities are paid on your own,
b) laundry costs $3 per load,
c) mainanence doesn't do ANYTHING right,
d) either the pool, spa, sauna, or something in the workout room is always broken
e) security is inept
f) the office staff is snappy, rude and pretentious
I would really like people to consider some other alternatives before settling here. I made a huge mistake in signing a 12 month lease.

How immature. Well, I would expect that from the college age girls working in the office but sending maintenance to do the "dirty work" is so high-school.
