I have a been a resident at VLF for about 4 years. I have a few suggestions if you are planning on signing a lease:

Ask about the functioning of the elevators and other amenities like the fitness room and laundry facilities. Also, managment is notorious for losing packages dropped off by Fedex, UPS, DHL and USPS.

The elevators have been in and out of service for last 4 years and the last outage has been for 3 straight months.

Many of the treadmills do not work and same goes for the laundry machines.

Also, you may be enticed by promotion they offer like free months rent of parking but beware of the rent increases.

I would ask for the following things to be added to your lease:

Elevator repair contingency - ask for a minimum time for repair of elevators and if not repaired within a 1 week period rent to be reduced by a percentage of your monthely aparment rent.

Second you should ask for a limitation on the rent increase per year. Perhaps no more than 1% increase per year including parking. Also the monthly rent should be calculated inluding promotions. Thus you should tally the total charge for first years rent and parking dived by 12.

You may also want to ask about the fitness and laundry facility.

if it is so bad why have you lived at the village so long? you keep signing a new contract if you have lived there for four years. i think you are just a pissy bit$h!!!
