This building becomes an oven in the summer - a good 10 degrees above the outside temperature. However they do allow you to purchase an air conditioner which they will install for $150 (no self installations). Unfortunately I have waited for nearly three months now to have mine installed. I ask each week and I am told it will be in another week or a few days or even later that afternoon. This seems pretty typical of maintenance requests so be forewarned. Last I checked the maintenance guy is on vacation for most of this month.

This new tenant asked to be on our A/C install list May 6th but did not have the units shipped into the building until 6/1. They arrived at 2:30PM on Friday afternoon, the day before he moved in. THey could have been done during this three week period. First of the month move ins/outs and repairs have priority so no time was left for his request. We also had a complete kitchen tear out/remodel while a tenant vacationed in Europe. This doesn't seem to add up to "3 months" in my book. Sorry about the scheduling conflict but accept some responsibility for not getting these 2 A/Cs here in a timely manner.
P.S. We only charge $125/AC to cover the cost of glass replacement after moveout. Contractor estimates for just the installation have varied between $250 and $500/unit W/O considering the glass replacement when units are removed from the building.

I'm not sure what "Anonymous" is talking about.. I think they have me confused with someone else. A strangly defensive response, but in my case actually the AC was ready to be installed as soon as they gave word - which, as of today - there is still no word, just a defensive response on this website. Not the greatest example of customer service placing a defensive response on this web site rather than just fixing the problem. It seems the best way to save face is just take care of your residents and let them report the results.

I am looking to rent an apartment in NW Portland or Kings Heights. These reviews are very helpful, but the most revealing are the responses. A message to the managment responding...You are indeed sounding very defensive and non-responsive. A consistent thread throughout the responses is that there are other priorities such as movein/out, repairs, remodels, etc. This would suggest that you need to hire additional maintenance help to satisfy the surge in A/C requests during the summer. The question of good management is "how do I satisfy my constituents needs?", not how do I explain the deficiencies. Generally, people want problems solved. In this case the problem is lack of maintenance hours, easy to fix with contracted labor. As it is, I will have to cross the St. Clair off of my list unless there has been a managment change since 7/07
