I have been living here for less then one year and am very dissatisfied with this apt complex. The apartment itself is great, nice and roomy with washers/dryers. The rent is income based but has two different levels, so actually a lot of people qualify to live here.

The staff here are very inconsiderate, which makes living here extremely stressful. Two weeks ago, I came home to a note taped to my door saying there would be construction on our decks the next day. It turned out, that the construction lasted all week long. Then on Friday, I got another notice saying that the construction would continue for another week. The letter also did not apologize for any inconvenience, nor did it say exactly what was taking so long. However, the notice did say, just like the original notice, that no one would be entering our apartment.

On Monday morning I woke up to a man yelling in my living room, saying he was Maintenance and there would be people coming in and out of my apartment that day. I asked why, and he said it was all explained in the notice we got (which, in fact, it was not).

So for the past two weeks, there have been people hammering and sawing and yelling loudly out on our balcony starting at 7:30am and ending after 5pm. It wakes me up every morning, as our balcony is right off the bedroom. For a couple days there were construction workers in and out of my apartment, tracking dirt, mud and sawdust on my beige carpet. They cut the door to the balcony out, and didn't replace the door frame, so there is a 1 inch gap all the way around a door. It's been raining here in Portland for the past few days, so rain water keeps leaking into the house, so I have to stuff around the door with towels. The also tore up the carpet around the door, took out the wood and padding from underneath it, and never fixed it. So now, I have a 1 foot by 1 foot area that is basically a hole in the floor covered in carpet, which by the way, isn't stapled or nailed to the floor. So not only is it so loud in here I have daily headaches and can't hear myself think, my apartment is dirty and torn up. And ultimately, when I move out, the carpet cleaning is going to come out of MY deposit. So basically I am paying rent for them to inconvenience me and make my apartment a mess.

When I (finally) called yesterday to complain to the Apartment Office, the lady that answered was very rude and unsympathetic. She never apologized or anything. I told her that this was a huge inconvenience to me, and that my apartment was a mess, and I wanted some type of compensation, whether that be some money off next months rent, or having them pay to clean my carpets, or something. All she told me was that there was nothing I could do about it, and that they were absolutely NOT going to compensate me. I even told her about the man in my living room at 8am, and she said that we should have got a notice. I told her it was the LAW that I have a 24 hour notice before someone enters, but she didn't seem to care.

I have called the City of Portland, but they said I was in the Beaverton District, but when I called the City of Beaverton, they just kept transferring me. I even called the news, but they said that I would have to fill out a form before they would even send someone for a preliminary investigation.

So DON'T rent from this complex. The staff is rude, and you are inconvenienced beyond belief. It's not worth the rent!

sounds like your having as much fun as I with the apartment/construction zone.... I live at executive 1801 and have had to endure over 3months of the same exact nonsense, must be the same contractors too...my lease is up nov.1 and am looking for apt in ne portland area, but, after reading your review and maney others for this complex, I want to say thank's for the imfo. I'll definately look else where, good luck on your next place.
