My siblings and I moved into this apartment complex after my parents moved to Missouri. While in the process of completing the rental agreements, the property manager assured us of an easy move and also giving tips as to what to note and write on our initial walk-through. The only problem was, the unit in it of itself was not the best unit to be living in. Our front door lock and combo did not lock all the way; the upstairs bathroom door frame was broken; the upstairs bathroom sink was leaking, soaking into the cabinet as well as creating water damage under the linoleum; causing mildew to form in and around the bathroom (which we cleaned up); the stove was not in the best condition (we only had two operable stove tops) and nor was the fridge. The worst part is that when our 30-day letter notification was given to the property manager, we were still charged an extra four days...(dated Nov 1 and was put into property manager's mailbox that same day, but s/he didn't get it till the 4th). We moved out at then end of the month, thinking that was the end of our 30-day notice, but it apparently wasn't. There's poor communication skills between the property manager and the tenants, it took two weeks before we had planned to move that the property manager decided to finally give us our copy of all the rental agreements we had signed except for one particular sheet, the initial walk-through of the apartment. That particular document is missing from our pile of copies. Not only that, once we made the request for maintenance to come by, it took weeks before we were finally able to see maintenance fix the problems within the unit. For those two months, we lived and dealt with ants, cockroaches, the stench of mildew and cigarettes combined, and the keying of our vehicles by the kids around the complex.
This was definitely not the most livable complex nor was it comfy. If I had a flashing red warning sign, I would say "Stay Away" from the complex due to the poor conditions it was in when we moved in, the poor conditions we had to deal with while living there, and the lack of communication with management and maintenance when we left.
