Hated it here..

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
When I came to Wimbledon Square, it was my first time living in an apartment. So that might have been my problem.. I didn't know what to watch out for. Once I moved in, problems just kept piling up..
I put in a request to have several things fixed in my apartment, and never received any acknowledgment of that. The deadbolt on my front door would not unlock with our keys, and cold air would blow in from the unproperly sealed cracks. You could actually see a piece of our front doormat from inside the apartment with the door closed. Or maybe it was the thin uninsulated walls that caused us to always use blankets and have our heat on 24 hours a day. We tried to use the oven once, the food was ruined. Bottom was charred and top was untouched. The stove wasn't level so cooking was interesting, when I tried. We had a tremendous amount of ants in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Nothing would get rid of them. Our toilet leaked, causing us to keep a bowl behind it and towels handy at all times. All our outlets were loose, nothing would stay plugged in. Out closet doors wouldn't budge, unless you used all your body weight to move them. Also our back screen door wouldn't shut. Made it hard for us to "circulate" the air without more bugs coming in. Last but not least, the mold. We tried everything to get rid of it, bleach, tons of mold killing chemicals, and "air circulation" didn't seem to do a thing. It was everywhere, especially behind the bed. We even tried moving the bed away from the wall but it kept coming back.
I usually have a great tolerance for noise, but there was a family of atleast five or six living above us in the one bedroom apartment, with plenty of kids running and screaming at all hours. Not to mention everynight I could hear my neighbors snoring. How thin are the walls exactly'
Security cameras do absolutely nothing, considering the mailboxes were broken into FOUR times in the three months I lived there. Cars were vandalized as well..
The staff can be moody at times. I only went in the office once to give my maintenance request and received nothing but attitude and snide comments from a staff member. She acted as if I were the one at fault for everything, or didn't know how to properly take care of my apartment. Of course the staff was nice when we signed our lease..
I DO NOT recommend living here, they put up a nice little act until you sign the line. Deposit took forever to get back..
