Horrible Place - Avoid like the PLAGUE!

I just moved out of Wimbledon after living there for 2 years, and in 2 different apartments. I have been in Portland for years and a renter for longer than that, and never before have I been jerked around or treated as poorly as I have been here. I am now being charged over $1000 to replace the carpets because they are "just too dirty to try cleaning" - and this is despite the fact that in the 2 years I have lived there I was always told carpets are replaced for each new tenant as standard practice (but of course now I am being told that is a lie and they have no idea where I might have heard that: from your own leasing agents, thats where I heard it!). On that topic, they are also not putting $200 of our deposit towards the replacement, and why' "Well, we will have to check with maintenance - I don't know about deposits, they handle all of your final cleaning bill and what not. But as it stands now . . . I just don't know where that $200 is." What kind of answer is that' I give you $650 in deposits and you just "misplace" $200 of it'

I also had about half a dozen friends live here, and we all had problems with maintenance. A friend of mine had her deadbolt break to where she couldnt shut her front door, this happened on a Friday night. She calls the after-hours maintenance pager . . . and they don't get back to her until Monday, claiming they never got a single one of the 2-dozen pages she sent them. She had to skip a weekend of work and ask me to stay with her since she couldnt close her front door and felt completely unsafe in her own apartment. I had a similar situation: my faucet in my tub broke (on its own) and woudlnt turn off: running full boar for 3 days (during the week) before maintenance "got around to it"; and two days later it broke again! As did my sink which did the samr thing. I had water running non-stop for over a week with maintenance "just getting around to it". One rainy day my roommate and I also noticed rainwater pouring from our bathroom ceiling, through the fan. We lived on the ground floor, and when water works its way through 2 other apartments and travels through electrical lines you'd think your property management would care: nope. They eventually came to look at it when it wasn't raining and said "Well we dont see any water coming down now, so we arent going to do anything." Excuse me' I had water filling pots in my bathroom running through our electrical wiring, how is that not a problem'

I also had my truck broken into (and in the past 2 years I've heard of a dozen break ins and about 6 cars being stolen from the lots), when I told the office they said "Oh, well our night security must have missed it, sorry, nothing we can do". This is the night security that never gets out of their patrol cars and I used to see down at the 7-11. When I inquired about the cameras that were supposed to be on all the parking lots (an amenities promise) I was told had stopped working in months prior and new ones had not been brought in yet. Great, dump your security and don't tell anyone - great job Wimbledon.

Overall this place is like a giant slum-lord haven - hidden behind plastic faces at the leasing office. Avoid them, like the plague. And if you do end up signing a lease with them, read it carefully: they are as vague as possible and will charge you an arm and a leg for anything they like.
