My 6 month stay at The Yards was an overall bad experience. They look nice on the outside but don't let the fact that they "look" new fool you. I experienced the same problems as I would expect in a 40 year old complex (bad plumbing, pests, etc.)The corridors inside the building are poorly ventilated - Bad smells permeate through the buildings constantly, whether its your neighbors BO, bad cooking, or the trash dumpsters overflowing. Just walking around the property, you'll usually find residents would be better suited in a prison or mental institution. Parking sucks - If you drive, you're lucky if you can go a day without getting stuck behind a long, slow moving freight train just to come and go from the property. There have been several instances where the trains just stop and block the crossing for 30 minutes or so. Moving in and out of the complex was a pain in the ass! They don't provide reserved spots near the entrances for trucks and moving vans, and the services drives are specifically off limits. You'll either have to drive around and hope you find a close parking spot on the street, or park your moving van 2 blocks away and carry your 600lb couch to your apt.

that's unfortunate for this person. i have had a great expierience living here! people are neighborly and i have never had any bad experiences with my plumbing. the maintenence was great when they i requested their assistance and even pointed out a few tips i could learn for better upkeap of my appliances. in response to the train situation, i myself love to live here because the train enhanced my environment. i love watching the trains go by and even if i get stuck at a train it gives me some time to think or even watch a free art show pass me by! but i enjoy here because i wanted to move here i did not jump into here because the it was cheap at the time, because they had a great deal:( i moved here because the staff has always been very proffessional yet casual and comfortble . parking for me was not a problem. i have garage parking and from the quotes i recieved from other complexes , they were going to make me pay more money to park outside! when i was moving in , it was really easy. but i dont remember there ever being a service drive. the office let me park on this back parking loop for free because all the spaces were taken on the street and the office even locked the elevator for me. well i hope that person has really nice place to live now but i wish they could of seen how nice the yards is.

Yea well you're probably a manager telling lies again. Otherwise you're one of the druggies that lives in the complex, off in your own reality. Who the F*&% describes a train as a free art show? Try imagining it as a 'free art show' when your stuck behind it and 45 frekin minutes late to work. Oh wait, you don't have to worry about the train cause you're either a manager that works at the complex, or a druggie with no job at all. FYI, the back parking loop you are referring to is called a service drive. That's what management referred to it as when I asked them if I could use it to move in and out. You must have offered them some of your drugs because when I asked, they told me NO!
