The Yards can be quite a nice place. Sure you have the trains, but you knew that when moving in. Welcome to city life! If you can't afford the Hill District then don't expect to live like you do.

Also, if you live in one of the town houses, it can be quiet and spacious. The lack of closet space is a bummer, but that is what Home Depot and Storable is for.

When it comes to management, just get everything in writing! That is what they do and that is what a court will ask for if you are having that many problems. Renter's insurance for that address is only $125 for the year through some companies. Check with your auto insurance group.

If you don't like the homeless in your hallways, call the police or work on having Portland pass a law. New York has an anti-panhandling law, and Time Square is a much safer place. But Portland is still a city and that is how you have to treat it.

If you want the quiet and safety of a small town, then I suggest that you move back to it. Maybe try to get to know your neighbors a bit so you can politely ask them to quiet down and they will respect it

referring to akcube: I have seen the manager/owner's daughter (blonde) in Beaverton--which I suspect is the "small town" the reviewer might have been referring to. A nice place like Beaverton...I moved out to Beaverton and I"ve seen again the worst management ever in my life, very similar to the responses written here, but in the "nice" small town of Beaverton people just don't complain much. Why can't there be laws against corrupt landlords like this?

why can't there be law which makes landrods to build satisfied sound proof.
