I really think the Yards isn't getting a fair trial here. Anyone who has ever lived in a dorm in college is not going to be phased by this place at all. In fact, besides the train, it was very quiet and nice. One must understand that it is housing for the Art Institute as well, so there are several kids that live there, but that was never a problem either.

As far as location and everything else, you are close enough to walk to some good night life, restaurants, and shopping; you get a good view of the river to the north and the city to the south and east (especially from the top of the building); water, sewer, and garbage are paid for; it's a very inclusive community if you want to be a part of it... I don't really understand what else people want. The only complaint I would ever have is parking for visitors: they either have to pay to park on the street or pay to park in back of the apartment. But, then again, if you live ANYWHERE in the city, you will have to deal with this problem.

Overall, this is a great place, and the staff isn't bad at all, so I'm not sure why everyone is rating them so poorly either. Anyone who is comfortable in the city will absolutely love this place (as soon as they get used to the train).
